The Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) at the Technische Universität München, Germany, and the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) Centre at the University of Windsor, Canada, are pleased to announce CARV 2009, the CIRP-sponsored 3rd International Conference on Changeable, Agile, Reconfigurable, and Virtual Production. The conference is open to engineers, scientists and researchers from both academia and industry and will be held in Munich, on October 5-7, 2009.

The vision of CARV 2009 is to encourage discussions regarding the various aspects of Changeable, Agile, Reconfigurable and Virtual Production, identify research and applications challenges and provide a visionary outlook. We welcome contributions on all topics related to the conference theme with special interest in the following research areas:

The conference mission is to provide the international scientific community with a dedicated forum for debate and exchange of ideas and experiences. Breakthrough advances, creative ideas and perspectives on future challenges are expected to create new focus points and to boost further international research. Contributions are encouraged from relevant academic research projects and industrial case studies.
